A BRITISH COLLECTOR IS CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF THE 50TH WITH THIS UNIQUE NUMBER PLATE,
’UAE 50D’. IT IS WELL SORT AFTER AND A VERY SPECIAL NUMBER PLATE WHICH IS GATHERING A LOT OF ATTENTION.
THIS NUMBER PLATE WAS FIRST REGISTERED ON 01/01/1966 IN UNITED KINGDOM.
THIS DATE 1966 IS VERY SIGNIFCANT FOR DUBAI AS THAT WAS THE YEAR OIL WAS FOUND.
H.H. SHEIKH RASHID HAD LONG HOPED FOR OIL TO BE FOUND IN DUBAI.
THE SEARCH FOR OIL HAD BEEN ONGOING SINCE 1937 BOTH ONSHORE AND OFFSHORE.
ABU DHABI HAD DISCOVERED OIL RESERVES ON ITS TERRITORY IN 1958 SO DUBAI WAS HOPEFUL OF DOING THE SAME. BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL 1966 WHEN OIL WAS UNEXPECTEDLY DISCOVERED 15 MILES OFFSHORE FROM DUBAI.

THE YEAR OF THE 50TH 2021 A HISTORICAL YEAR
H. H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE announced 2021, as the ‘Year of the 50th’ to commemorate 50 years of the UAE’s formation in 1971. From 6 April 2021 until 31 March 2022, the UAE will celebrate its remarkable journey over the last 50 years and begin preparing for the next 50.
The activities marking the UAE’s Golden Jubilee will be built on the following four pillars:
launching the ‘Year of the 50th’ with a festive spirit that engages all those who call the UAE their home
calling upon all UAE nationals to contemplate the values and achievements of the past in honour of the UAE’s Founding Fathers
inspiring youth to have their vision about the next 50 years and supporting them to make quality national achievements
Championing long-term initiatives and impactful policies to empower citizens and residents to do their part.
